NEW YEAR? NEW MUSIC? OPM ARTISTS GET TOGETHER IN LA UNION

From recording studios to the beach, from the bright concert lights to the majestic sunset up North.
In a rare sighting, some of the country’s finest artists got together in La Union, veering away from the acropolis to start the New Year on a high note.
Spotted together were OPM rock legend and songwriter Rico Blancuo, BINI Maloi Ricalde, Pat Lasaten and Agnes Reoma of Ben and Ben, Blaster Silonga and Zild Benitez of IV of Spades, Joshua Lua of Over October and photographer Shaira Luna.
A new-found friendship it was for the group, enjoying warm coffee, strong waves and chill weather in Northern Luzon after taking vital roles in championing Original Pilipino Music (OPM) last year here and abroad.
And well, maybe new music, too?
Like the sun setting from atop and behind of the scenic La Union waters, a beautiful meeting of the musical minds by the sands it was from the artists of different generations, groups and genres — all for the love of Philippine music.
That’s the real score.
