ASIA’S FINEST: BINI HAILED AS ‘BEST ASIA ACT’ AT MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS

The Nation’s Girl Group and now the continent’s best.

BINI just added another star in the #BINIVerse after being hailed as the ‘Best Asia Act’ at the prestigious MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) over the weekend in Manchester, England.
BINI bested nominees ‘Illit’ from South Korea, ‘Sakurazaka46’ from Japan, ‘Mahalini’ from Indonesia, and ‘Masdo’ of Malaysia in the 30th edition of the EMAs.
The octet of Aiah, Maloi, Colet, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna and Sheena in the process became the first Filipino artist to ever win the award.
BINI was also the first Southeast Asian and girl group to reign supreme in the continental category of MTV since its expansion a few years back.
OPM legend and pop superstar Sarah Geronimo and James Reid won when the award was still Best Southeast Asia Act in 2014 and 2017, respectively.
The Nation’s Girl Group wasn’t able to attend the awards show in England to personally receive the recognition but expressed their heartfelt gratitude.
“We’re so thankful in winning Best Asia Act in this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards,” said BINI leader Jhoanna in a video greeting uploaded by MTV on X.
For BINI rapper Mikha, the win wasn’t only for BINI but for all the Filipinos and the Original Pilipino Music (OPM).
“We hope we can keep sharing our music with you and so that the world can discover more of the Filipino music,” beamed Mikha.
BINI’s win came on the heels of another triumph as the Most Popular Dance Performer in the Jupiter Music Awards under the renowned Asian Television Awards.
BINI’s historic win also added another feat in their breakthrough international rise after being the first Filipino act to perform at the KCON USA and becoming the first Filipino artist to debut on Spotify Global.
The eight-member girl group was also named one of the Voices of Asia in the Billboard K-Power 100 in South Korea, along with fellow P-POP group SB19.
With multiple local nominations still on board, there’s no stopping BINI’s rise anytime soon — all for OPM.
