INTO THE ‘BINIVERSE: Bini roars in 1st major solo concert
Never a dull moment.
For three straight days, Filipino pop group BINI delighted their throng of fans with a show to remember in its first-ever major solo concert – the BINIVERSE – at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City.
Dubbed as ‘The Nation’s Girl Group’, BINI over the weekend took the ‘Blooms’ filled up to the rafters into the ‘Biniverse’ and left them in a loop like their wide array of viral songs on repeat.
And there was no turning back in a deafening atmosphere.
Not only did the P-pop sensation rock and slay the biniverse with a bang as Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna and Sheena also serenaded the fans with their standout solo performances.
BINI ushered in the show with a music video of their journey before their debut, chronicling their humble beginnings in the auditions, Star Hunt Academy until finally being launched on July 11, 2021.
With a majestic silhouette backdrop, the curtains unfurled much to the trembling eruption of NFT as BINI plunged into the Biniverse with Na Na NA as their breakthrough hit.
They snowballed to a non-stop dance transition to Lagi and I Feel Good, Ang Huling Chacha and Karera as Dyan Ka lang, Na Na Nandito Lang, 8, Born To Win, Strings, Here With You, Salamin Salamin and Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi rocked the venue.
Then there came a surprise homage.
BINI started from the bottom. And now they’re here, narrating a journey like no other.
Wearing the iconic white DCN blouses during their Da Coconut Nut debut, BINI unleashed a stunning outfit change on stage to end the show with Pantropiko – the group’s biggest hit to date just yet with now almost 100 million streams and thousands of covers here and abroad.
It symbolized BINI’s roots from their humble beginnings to where they are now, three years into the Biniverse they never imagined of conquering.
BINI also teased their new song ‘Cherry on Top’ before its release on July 11.
But the moment belonged to the eight distinct members, who displayed their eccentric talents one by one.
Colet went wild with Beyonce’s Crazy in Love, Mikha rocked with Paramore’s That’s What You Get, Stacey slayed with Ariana Grande’s Thank You Next, Maloi serenaded with Up Dharma Down’s Oo, Sheena flaunted an electrifying solo dance performance as leader Jhoanna belted out Sarah Geronimo’s Isa Pang Araw.
Gwen, under the weather and all, starred in Little Mix’s Woman Like Me as Aiah, fresh from sickness recovery herself, sizzled in Doja Cat’s Woman.
As the curtains closed and history was made, Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Mikha, Stacey, Jhoanna and Sheena proved that they’re eight different people hailing from all over the tropical islands.
But in the BINIVERSE and beyond, they’re BINI.
As one and the same.
For Blooms, they’re home.
And the Nation’s Girl Group is not going anywhere.
