MIKHA SLAYS IN ASG, BINI ROCKS THE BIG DOME AGAIN
There is no stopping the Nation’s Girl Group – on the stage and on the court.
Fresh from their well-deserved break, BINI came back with a bang over the weekend with Mikha Lim spearheading the way as the team captain in the Star Magic All-Star Games at the Araneta Coliseum.
In front of thousands of fans including a bulk of Blooms who braved a downpour amidst Typhoon Crising, Mikha made heads turn with her sharp and precise playmaking as the Lady Setters’ setter and skipper.
Mikha drew the loudest cheers from the jampacked Big Dome crowd starting from her entrance up to her every set, spike and dive, especially after the arrival of the rest of BINI members to join the unison of chants for her.
Chants of “Mikha! Mikha! Mikha!” and “Go Sexy, Go Sexy, Go Sexy Sexy Love” blared all over the coliseum for the entire match, thanks also to her exclusive fancam on the jumbotron as the winner of the pre-even poll by Star Magic for the most popular player.
Mikha and the Lady Setters, who also had former UAAP MVP Angel Canino of La Salle and PVL star Ivy Lacsina Akari, lost a close three-set match to the Lady Spikers led by two-time UAAP MVP Bella Belan of NU and now PVL No.1 pick with Creamline, NU setter Lams Lamina and eventual Tournament MVP Analain Salvador, 25-23, 23-25, 11-15.
Still, Mikha made ito the Mythical Six as the game’s best setter with teammates Reign Parani and Rain Celmar with Salvador, Carmella Ford and Janah Zaplan of the Lady Spikers. Fyang Smith was hailed as Rookie of the Year.
“Thank you Blooms, thank you my Mikhalites and thank you Lady Setters! My love for you guys is forever. To me what’s important is we all had fun and grabe tawa ko jusko I can’t,” said Mikha on X.
“Maraming maraming salamat po talaga. I actually downloaded X again so I can respond heh. I love you Blooms! And thank you BINI girls, thank you for showing up.”
BINI – with Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Jhoanna and Sheena joining Mikha at centercourt – indeed showed up an showed out with an electrifying performance after the men’s volleyball, women’s volleyball and men’s basketball game as the finale act.
Last year, BINI performed at halftime and was showered with cheers and chants by the entire Big Dome as they sang their hits Pantropiko, Salamin, Salamin and Karera.
Nothing has changed this time around with Blooms and other fans joining BINI in their new songs Out Of My Head and Shagidi – all while displaying raw vocals, dance synchronization and showmanship on a 360 stage that has becoming their playground for a series of events now.
The Big Dome also served as BINI’s venue in their 3-day Grand BINIVerse concert last year, being the first group to hold three sold-out shows at the iconic venue in history.
BINI never left and if anything, the Nation’s Girl Group is not going anywhere, remaining to be the same octet everyone has fallen in love with – and still do.
And on a rainy Sunday night, BINI has proved it once again that Mikha was a court slayer and they’re a 360-stage slayer, too.
